Mesita Elementary strives to achieve academic excellence!!! 

The Mesita faculty, staff, and student body are dedicated to achieving the highest level of academic excellence to prepare students to be successful in and out of the classroom. Part of being prepared academically in and out of the classroom, students and teachers work hand in hand to prepare for the STAAR Test that will officially take way this school year.

What is STAAR?


"Beginning in spring 2012, the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR™) will replace the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS). The STAAR program at grades 3–8 will assess the same subjects and grades that are currently assessed on TAKS."

Mesita Elementary has always worked hard with the help of all administration, teachers, staff and of course the students!! Mesita has reached above and beyond to meet AYP, Adequate Yearly Progress, Standards! CONGRATULATIONS MUSTANGS!!!!!

**Reading/English Language Art AYP Target is 87%

Mesita Elementary met AYP with a 97%!!!!

**Mathematics AYP Target is 83%

Mesita Elementary has received commended performance on Reading, Wrtiting, Math, and Science! Students have worked diligently and have put in all efforts to make sure to do well on testing. Upon anticipating the STAAR test this year, students are gearing up soar above and beyond these results. Here at Mesita, we strive for the BEST!

2010-2011 TAKS Results: Mesita vs. El Paso Independent School District


**No official STAAR Test results were released for 2011-2012 school year. STAAR Results will be released for the 2012-2013 school year with accurate ratings.
